 Manali is a high-elevation Himalayan town in India’s northern Himachal Pradesh state. As Manali is the main center for tourism in winter, snow covers the giant mountains and the pleasant environment of Manali is very much admired by tourists.

1. JOGINI WATERFALL

Jogini waterfall is located in the beautiful valley of Manali, about 3 km from the city and about 2 km from the ancient Vashisht temple. What makes it a famous sight is the path journey from the Vashisht sanctuary through pine trees and plantations to the enchanting Jogini waterfall, which flows from a height of 160 feet.

This ancient holy place, also known as Hidimba Devi Sanctuary and Dhungari Sanctuary, was founded by Maharaja Bahadur Singh in 1553. As the name suggests, the sanctuary is dedicated to Hidimba Devi, the wife of Bheema. On the grounds is another place of worship dedicated to Hidimba Devi’s child Ghatotkacha. Surrounded by dense cedar forests and with snow-capped mountains in the background, the temple is one of the most outstanding places to visit in Manali.

Solang Nala is a small valley located at an altitude of about 4,800 meters above sea level, a short drive from Manali. It is a safe house for experienced sports lovers and considering that here you can try your skills with some skis or explore with a snowmobile. When the weather heats up, people flock here for zorbing and paragliding. You can also hop on a trolley and enjoy the mesmerizing views of the Himalayas.
